Rosemary Kennedy, the sister of our president, was tragically lobotomized and lived the majority of her life in Jefferson, Wisconsin. Elizabeths aunt, a Franciscan nun, was Rosies devoted friend and caregiver. The author discusses Rosies life and her own intimate experiences with Rosie, along with the history of the Kennedys, mental illness, and Elizabeths personal experience with her own familys mental illness.
